Visa for Language students

- How to get it easier

Tips to get a visa
for Language students

Visa and passport

Unfortunately if you apply for a visa for long stay at german embassy in your country,
It takes several months for your visa to be issued.

However we know you have to enter in Germany before the beginning of your study.
It is really stressful to wait and not very sure if you can enter or not.

TIPS

If you will study in Germany for up to 90 days, you only have to apply for a short term visa (schengen visa).

It does not take couple of months and it is easier to get.

Also, if you are from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea or the United States you can enter Germany without a visa and stay up to 90 days.

If you want to stay over 90 days...

If you want to study more than 90 days, there is 2 way to enter Germany.

First, you apply for a schengen visa then, you change it to long term visa in Germany. Second, you apply for a long term visa at german embassy in your country.

It often takes couple of months when you apply for a long term one at german embassy in your country,
Thus we highly recommend to enter Germany with or without schengen visa first, then change to long term one in Germany.

However if you have enough time to wait, it is not bad idea to apply a long term visa (national visa).
