Visa for PhD students, Researcher

- How to get it easier

Tips to get a visa for PhD students

Visa and passport

Unfortunately if you apply for a visa for long stay at german embassy in your country,
It takes several months for your visa to be issued.

Because German embassy in your country must wait for that your university or organisation in Germany to send an admission notice to the german government and then the german government will give the permission to you to enter the university in Germany.

However we know you have to enter in Germany before the beginning of your study.
It is really stressful to wait and not very sure if you can enter or not.

TIPS

We highly recommend to apply for 'Shengen Visa' first then change your visa in Germany.

Also, if you are from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea or the United States you can enter Germany without a visa and stay up to 90 days.

People with the above nationalities can change their visa in Germany.

Thus we highly recommend to enter Germany with or without schengen visa, then change to long term one.
